Bringing Accounting Out of the Dark Ages: POP Business

Trio of disruptive fintech entrepreneurs taking on the accounting world

Since 2019, a trio of innovative and ambitious young professionals have been taking on the accounting world.

Patrick Sargent, Sidney Cachuela, and Mojtaba Jafari are the masterminds behind POP Business—one of Sydney’s newest cloud-based accounting firms.

Their mission: revamp antiquated accounting methods and bring the accounting sector up to speed and into the 21st Century.

After noticing the accounting sector was very much stuck in the times of using tedious manual data entry practices and numerous paper forms, the young co-founders have worked to modernise accounting services by embracing technology, automation and cloud computing.

“We have made it our mission to help thousands of business owners spend less time on the sole-sapping stuff like bookkeeping, payroll and tax and more time working on their business,” said Patrick Sargent, chartered accountant and CEO at POP Business.

“Our young, professional and agile team at POP Business regularly test different software and take the time to intimately know our clients so that we can provide the right advice and cloud-based services”.

Motivated by exciting and engaging small business owners with new technology-driven accounting services, POP Business has thrown out all the books when it comes to accounting. Literally!

“We aim to empower business owners by providing accurate and reliable financial information that is communicated in plain English on a proactive and regular basis.”

And, without the use of thousands of paper forms either.

Since their humble beginnings, POP Business has grown from 100 clients to 800 in the past year.

And, their efforts have not gone unnoticed. Over the last few years, the tech-savvy entrepreneurs have been awarded the Accountants Daily 30 Under 30 Award in 2020 and the Tech Innovator of the Year in 2019.
